Infectious Diseases of the nervous system: Pathogenesis
and worldwide impact
The Conference “Infectious Diseases of the nervous system:
Pathogenesis and worldwide impact” will be held in Paris at the Pasteur
Institute, September 10 to 13, 2008.
We have assembled a list of 36 experts coming from a dozen
different countries, who have accepted our invitation to speak on a variety of
pathogens causing devastating neurological
diseases such as cerebral
Malaria, Neurocysticercosis, Sleeping Sickness, Viral
Encephalitis, Poliomyelitis, Progressive Multifocal Leuko-encephalopathy, Bacterial Meningitis, Cerebral
Tuberculosis, HIV-associated Neurocognitive
disorders, HTLV1-inducedTropical spastic paraparesis,
Leprosy and Rabies.
To our knowledge this conference topic has not been covered
recently in a broad, comprehensive way. We wish to attract also an audience of
young researchers/trainees in the field from all continents and hope to foster
collaborations to accelerate investigations of disease pathogenesis and the use
of new technologies for development of diagnostic tools and drug discovery.
Registration is now open.
Travel fellowships are available and Abstract submission has opened
March 1, 2008.
